Fast and Easy: Camping Meal Favorite the Idaho Sunrise

Instead of panicking about how to have both a delicious meal, and not spend ages making it, try our favorite fast and easy camp meal that will not only be incredibly tasty, but super easy to do! Not only will you be full, but you will be camping in style!


Quick Clean, Tasty Treats, and a Happy Full Family

With only a few simple products you can make deliciouscamping-meal breakfasts, lunches, and dinners that will not only wow your friends aesthetically, but also all of your taste buds. People often think of camp meals as hot dogs on the fire or easy mac n cheese, but you can have a proper and enjoyable meal with a little camping preparation. In this article we are going to teach you our absolute favorite crowd winning meal, the Idaho Sunrise, that will make you enjoy dinner in the outdoors more than your normal home cooked meal.


Packing Essentials Before You Leave to the Great Outdoors

Before you jump in the car, there are a few things that you should double, even triple check to make sure are in the car with you, camping gear is essential for a good trip. If you are planning on cooking, and aren’t sure if there are fire rings with grates, consider bringing along a double burner stove, but make sure you pack the right type of gas to get your burners going! Alternatively most camper trailers these-days come with a kitchen assembly complete with a stove built in which could shorten your packing list and insure those essentials are never forgotten. Bring along pots or pans, eating utensils, and over course plates to eat off. Our final suggestion, is to bring along a healthy amount of foil, worse case scenario is that you end up bundling up all your food into some foil and throwing it on the fire. You will still get tasty food; it will just be a little slower.


Our meal, the Idaho Sunrise, is easy to make and incredibly delicious, your kids and friends are going to love a cheesy potato stuffed with eggs and bacon. It is fast to make, requires next to no dishes, and will fuel you up for a day of hiking, exploring and adventuring!


The Play by Play

For this tasty meal you will first need to pick up the following ingredients at the store:

2 large potatoes, 2 eggs, 1 container of pre cooked crumbled bacon, 1 cup of shredded cheese, a bundle of parsley, and 1 tablespoon of butter.

First, get your potatoes going, wrap them in foil, puncture holes in the foil, and throw them right into the fire. Leave them there for 15 minutes, while you prep the rest, in a bowl combine plucked parsley, a handful of cheese, and a handful of the the crumbled bacon.

When you pull out the potatoes unwrap the top of the foil, and with a spoon, scoop out the center until you can fit one egg, and your bowl of ingredients. Wrap it back up and throw it in the fire for another 15 minutes. You will have a delicious potatoes and eggs in no time with a very fast and easy clean!
