A little bit of snooping around inland Queensland might find some surprisingly wet (and stunning) campsites!
I’ve been travelling around the country in campers and caravans for the best part of 25 years. In that time I have met the most wonderful and amazing like-minded people, many of whom I’ve kept in contact with for years afterwards. Caravanners and campers are the most terrific people you will ever meet but, every now and again, you’ll find that one guy who is the exception to the rule. You’ve probably met him: obnoxious, opinionated, self-righteous and most likely to be breaking every rule in the book. If you’ve just started out in your RV lifestyle and you’re wondering who I’m talking about, then take a note of the following to ensure that you do not inadvertently become THAT GUY!
The Great Ocean Road in Victoria’s south west is something of a rite of passage for all Australians. However, the summer tourist hordes can make it a slow-going headache. Add in that the area has very few real beachside camping spots and it means you’re fighting for somewhere choice to stop.
We tell you how they did it, and how you can do it for even less.
When it comes to an authentic outback experience, it’s hard to beat setting up camp on a working station. Plus, some of the most spectacular countryside is found on private property. Have we sold you yet? Here’s how to unlock the gate on five epic outback station stays.
You can’t just hitch up and head off without a clear and legally-enforceable view behind you.
Easter might be best known for egg hunts, hat parades and obscene amounts of chocolate, but we reckon the best thing about it is the extra-long weekend it promises. But finding someone to look after your four-legged friend for four days can be tricky, so we’ve done a roundup of our favourite pet-friendly holiday parks around Oz.
Exploring nature’s playground sometimes requires a little extra effort. Like taking a dirt road and venturing on less travelled routes. Usually the reward is worth it.
