Coopers Creek is a stunning Camping spot with the Thompson River running right next to the camp areas. It is a free campground with fire pits and toilet facilities available so it’s a perfect weekend getaway for all.
Great for a swim, fish or 4WD you will surely find an activity your family enjoys at these campgrounds. If 4WD’ing is your thing the Low Saddle Track is something you should give a go. Very steep in a few spots, the track winds its way down to the river crossing (about 40m wide) across a rocky ledge & onto the pebbly river bed. (With the deepest point being about waist deep). If photography is something you enjoy, the Coopers Creek Copper Mine Hotel located about a 5 minutes’ walk from the camp-grounds is surrounded by rustic abandoned cars among greenery making it a unique opportunity for seasoned or amateur photographers.
